How to Spot a Fake Burberry Blue Label

(1) Burberry Blue Label is a specified version of the Burberry brand that is available only in Japan.
If you are making the purchase outside Japan :

  • Make sure the merchandise you are looking to purchase is sold in Japan and will be shipped to you from Japan.
  • Check the seller’s background. Google about the reputation of the seller on his historical sales. When pre-ordering, do not transfer the full amount. The market practice for pre-orders is 50% deposit and 50% cash on delivery.

(2) The tag on the merchandise should be in white or bright blue and that the capitalised interior label should be identical to the picture below :
Make sure the logo is spelled in all upper case letters: BURBERRY, not Burberry or Burberry’s. It must also say BLUE LABEL in all upper case letters directly below the BURBERRY logo.

(3) Check for loose stitches and any other evidence of shoddy craftsmanship. Burberry is a very respected label that takes pride in its quality craftsmanship so if you notice fabric glue, uneven stitches or a defective zipper, there’s a very high chance that the product is a fake.

(4) Make sure the merchandise has a serial number. Every Burberry Blue Label product has a unique serial number stamped on a white label inside the bag or piece of clothing. This number can be used to determine if the product is fake or authentic.

(5) Make sure the model number on paper tag and woven tag are the same. All purchases should come with its original paper tags. The woven tags are generally located in the interior of the bag.

(6) Make sure the following are included in the purchase : Original tags (always both paper tag and woven tag), Dust bag (most bags do include dust bags, smaller sized purse or accessories may not) and Paper bag (always attached with purchase – either Blue Label paper bag or Burberry London paper bag, depending on branches).

  1. According to your article, every Burberry Blue Label product has a unique serial number stamped on a white label inside the bag or piece of clothing.
In 2008, I bought Burberry Blue Label wallet in Burberry shop in Japan but I can’t find out any unique serial number stamping on a white label inside the wallet. The wallet only shows the logo – BURBERRY BLUE LABEL on the wallet.
In September, 2013, I went to Japan again and bought a wallet from Burberry shop again. I am still not finding any unique serial number stamping on a white label inside the label. It also only shows the logo - BURBERRY BLUE LABEL.
Could you please clarify that the above rule cannot be applied to the Burberry Blue Label wallet?

  2. Style number is not a unique serial code. it's no different from an item code. meaning all merchandise of the same model also has the same style number. kindly fix and update your guide.
